Taziker Win Tender for Bristol Temple Meads Station Refurbishment

Taziker has been awarded a major refurbishment project at Bristol Temple Meads railway station after a successful tender submission.
Taziker, a leading multi-discipline engineering and construction contractor, is working on behalf of Network Rail to renovate Bristol’s oldest and largest station, including its famous Victorian roof. This is the first major upgrade of the station fabric in over 25 years; due for completion in 2023.
Improvements to the station will provide a cleaner, brighter experience for passengers. Work includes extensive metallic and woodwork repairs along with the complete re-glazing of the existing rooflights. The new modern glazing will replicate the original roof design and bring increased natural light into the station. Taziker will also repair the ornate gable ends and leadwork on the main train shed.
Taziker’s refurbishment work on the Grade 1 listed building will also protect it from further deterioration for future generations and historic elements will be retained wherever possible.

Originally designed by famous British engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Bristol Temple Meads opened in 1840 and has expanded over the years to accommodate increasing train and passenger numbers.
The Bristol Temple Meads renovation project is part of a wider programme of railway upgrades in the area to improve reliability, capacity, and the overall passenger experience.

We're ambitious about our plans for the railway in the city, and this is just the first step in providing a world-class station to enable more people to get to their jobs and encouraging more investment in the area."
