Taziker Win RoSPA Health and Safety Initiative of the Year Award

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has awarded Taziker with the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year 2023 award.

The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK.  Taziker won the award after collaborating with PASMA and Network Rail to improve mobile tower safety in the industry.

In collaboration with PASMA, Taziker supported the development of the TowerSure app to improve health and safety on sites during the building and inspection of access towers.  Taziker also funded, and together with Network Rail Western, produced a series of short training videos to guide operators on the safe use of towers.

Rob Usher, Group HSQE Director, Taziker, said: "We are thrilled and honoured to receive the RoSPA Health and Safety Initiative of the Year award, in collaboration with PASMA and Network Rail Western, for our work developing the mobile tower videos and assisting with the TowerSure app for use within a railway environment. It is an excellent example of how technology can be used to improve safety in the workplace.

“This initiative was established to prevent falls from height, by providing tower users with access to a smart permit system backed by bite-sized learning videos. TowerSure empowers our teams with the controls, knowledge and skills needed to maintain the highest work at height standards. This recognition reinforces our commitment to safety excellence, and we are grateful for this award acknowledgment."

Peter Bennett OBE, Managing Director of PASMA, said: "On behalf of PASMA, I’d like to record our gratitude to Taziker for piloting TowerSure™, the new mobile access tower inspection tool from PASMA.

"It’s due to the proactive involvement and ongoing feedback from a small number of early adopters, including Taziker, that this technology is now being rolled out by tier one contractors and major infrastructure providers. We believe TowerSure is a game changer for tower safety and that it will eventually help prevent falls from height on sites and projects all over the world. Thanks to Taziker for leading the way and helping to shape the product throughout its early development."

This is the second RoSPA Award issued to Taziker this year, after previously winning a RoSPA Gold Award in March.

The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK. Now into its 67th year, the Awards have almost 2,000 entries every year, covering nearly 50 countries and a reach of over seven million employees.
