Taziker Awarded the Restoration of Granton Gasholder in Edinburgh

Taziker, working on behalf of Mclaughlin & Harvey, has been awarded the restoration of Granton Gasholder in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The B-listed structure, which is located in the Granton Waterfront area of Edinburgh, was originally used to deliver gas to the city.  The 252ft structure has been unused for many years and the City of Edinburgh Council plan to re-purpose the gasholder into a waterfront public space.

The project scope includes the provision of access, condition led steelwork repairs, surface preparation and protective coatings.

David Field, Regional Director Scotland, Taziker said, “We look forward to delivering this logistically challenging project with our client McLaughlin & Harvey and leaving a lasting legacy for the local community to enjoy this new public space.  The Taziker team in Scotland are very proud and excited to be playing our part in the transformation of this area of the capital city from a post-industrial brownfield site into a vibrant new neighbourhood.”

Graham Brown, Contracts Manager, McLaughlin & Harvey said, “McLaughlin & Harvey is happy to engage Taziker as our Structural Steelwork Refurbishment subcontractor on our Granton Gas Holder project. The refurbished gas holder will be the focal point to an exciting multifunctional public space for the local community to enjoy.”
