Huw Jenkins Memorial Cup
Published 13th August 2014
Taziker Industrial recently took part in a charity football tournament in memory of Huw Jenkins, a BAM Nuttall employee who was tragically killed in a road traffic accident. Network Rail, BAM Nuttall and various contractors on the Borders rail scheme took part in the tournament which helped raise over £3,000. This money was split between Macmillan Cancer Support and Brake; a charity supporting road accident victims and their families as well as campaigning for greater safety on our roads.
The Taziker Industrial Devils, captained by Site Manager Hisham Alkarnaz, put in a determined effort. However, winning the Huw Jenkins Memorial Cup proved to be a ‘bridge too far’ as they lost 4-2 to Mammoet UK, who went on to be beaten in the final by a combined team of professionals from Hibs and Hearts. The Taziker Industrial Borders team thoroughly enjoyed the day are proud to have been able to support two very worthy causes.
