We have a vacancy for a Document Controller within our Blackburn office, working 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business offering independent workload and development opportunity.

Responsibilities Include:

As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining a system for managing both electronic and hard copy documents. This includes ensuring a controlled and secure storage area for project documentation, adhering to project-specific and standard requirements. You will register and action all project documentation on the chosen document management system, controlling the receipt, issue, and distribution of documents through various channels, including client portals and according to project and standard requirements.

You will maintain documentation in line with project and quality control requirements, providing support and guidance for accessing and retrieving documents when needed. Additionally, you will assist and support with regulatory inspections and internal audits, conducting your own internal audits on documentation to ensure compliance with relevant protocols, such as document numbers and revisions. Ensuring the secure destruction and disposal of sensitive documents is also a key responsibility.

Compliance with GDPR is essential, and you will ensure the business remains compliant at all times. You will train and assist team members in all document control procedures, highlighting and addressing any errors or deviations in document control processes. Your role is vital in maintaining high standards and ensuring the integrity of project documentation.

Desirable Qualifications/Certificates

  • NVQ Level 3 or above Business Administration/Relevant ISO9001 training

Essential Knowledge/Experience

  • Proficient in microsoft office applications including word, excel, powerpoint and project.
  • Experience of building and maintaining good working relationships with people of all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Have the ability to work on multiple projects of various sizes and complexity, responding to time orientated queries and tasks.
  • Achievement orientated, disciplined, and dedicated to delivering excellence.
  • Ability to effectively manage and assist others with adapting to change.
  • Has the ability to identify issues and opportunities, seeking solutions and asking for assistance when required.
  • Self-motivated, organised, with the ability to manage own workload effectively.

Desirable Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience of working in a Document Controller role.
